Due to a technical failure a fire occurred at the 30 kV switchgear of Austrian Power Grid’s substation Kaprun tonight at around 0.30 am. The fire was extinguished within two hours through the immediate initiation of technical emergency measures and the intervention of the fire brigade. The security of electricity supply in Salzburg and throughout Austria was not jeopardized at any time.

Until 2032 APG will invest a total of approximately 3.5 billion euros in grid expansion and renovation projects, which amounts to approximately 19 percent of the total of 18 billion euros which the energy industry will invest in the grid infrastructure over the next ten years.
