Großraming Substation
Built in 1950, the Großraming substation is being comprehensively modernized as part of a major overhaul of its 110-kV switchgear. APG is investing approximately €44 million in the project through 2029.
Complete overhaul of the 110-kV switchgear in Großraming
The Großraming substation was built in 1950 together with the hydroelectric power plant of the same name. Over the decades, the facility was gradually expanded and partially modernized, including the addition of a grid support facility for the Upper Austrian electricity grid.
Due to the advanced age of the facility and the fact that individual components have reached the end of their technical service life, a comprehensive modernization at the existing site is necessary to ensure safe and reliable operation over the long term.
The project, which is being carried out in coordination with Ennskraftwerke AG and Netz OÖ GmbH, comprises not only the complete overhaul of the 110-kV switchgear at Großraming, but also the installation of new 110-kV transformers by Netz OÖ and a new connection for the generating-unit feeder bays of Ennskraftwerke.
The project will help ensure a reliable and secure electricity supply for the region over the long term.
