If not avoidable by other means, the maximum exchange load possible is reduced at a border in order to guarantee a safe grid operation. Depending on the lead time, the reduction can be implemented in several ways:
- Long-term (planned servicing periods): capacity is either not reduced or with reservations.
- Day-ahead: Capacity has been auctioned, allocated transportation rights have been reduced.
- Intraday: Already scheduled supplies have to be reduced.
Details are determined in the auction rules for every border. In the case of a reduction, the respective persons responsible for the balance group and/or owner of the respective transportation rights are notified via e-mail.
