Control Area Imbalance

The Control Area Imbalance is the surplus or deficit of electrical energy in the APG control area. It equals the algebraic sum of all balance groups deviations (balancing energy). At the same time the delta control area is the algebraic sum of the following components:

  • Secondary Control
  • Minute Reserve requested
  • Unintended exchange with the Continental European synchronous network

The average quarter of an hour data of the delta control area and the requested tertiary reserve in MW are usually published shortly after the end of every quarter of an hour. However a time delay of another quarter of an hour has to be expected. The illustrated data is based on the measured data and is not as accurate as the measurements that are used for the calculation. If the system detects transmission errors, they are displayed with an interrogation mark.
