Grid Planning

Careful planning for sustainable security of supply

The maintenance of safe and interruption-free grid operations requires more than ongoing service and modernisation. Austrian Power Grid AG engages in careful and long-term planning to ensure that it can meet the continuously growing challenges of a changing energy supply system.

Increasing energy consumption and, in particular, the rapidly progressing expansion of renewable energies create a growing burden on the transmission grid.

In the Grid Master Plan 2009-2020, Austrian Power Grid AG defines the grid expansion projects that must be implemented in the next ten years to guarantee long-term security of supply.
